Make Me Some S'mores...

Who doesn't love them??

We made some over our gas stove last week.
(Don't try this at home! :P)

"Redneck S'mores"
That's what my sisters were calling our "baking" session.
They tasted so good.
And it was way more fun than using the oven or microwave.

A few weeks ago, I wanted some frozen yogurt.
So I *attempted* to make some.

It all started with some fruit in a blender.
Then I poured it into a cake pan and froze it.
That was all.
We scraped it into a cup and enjoyed what didn't taste much like yogurt but more like....
A frozen smoothie.
Wonder why... :)

Check this out!!!
I made it a few months ago, but just found this picture.
It is felt hand stitched on cloth.
It took a while...
but it turned out SO STINKIN' CUTE!!

The letters were cut out of felt
The olive was traced with stencils
 and sewn together.

Thanks for joining me!!
See you soon,

The Little Things...

enjoy the little things
It's the little things.
All the little things that amount to one big, wonderful thing.
The little things like a bundle of balloons.

A sweet little smile.
A steaming cup of tea.
A cozy, rainy day.
It's the little things in life
 that are so wonderful.
The little memories made.

I'm gearing up for next school year.
Going back to public school means
picking classes,
finding out schedules,
and everything else that comes with it.

* Excitement*

I made this card last week.
My cousin gave me the COOLEST card stock and stickers for Christmas.
I just had to use it :)
I love the simplicity.
(and I am not one for simple...)

I hope to have a baking post next,
haven't been doing much baking these days.
        Check back in :)

A Bunch of Goodies!

I have 2 things to blog about today.
1). Cupcake Liner Flowers
2). An Interesting Workout

Here is the DIY Cupcake Flower Instructions.

These flowers are SO beautiful!
I used a few on Christmas gifts (yeah, this post is a bit delayed...)
They are just so cute!!
This tutorial is on how to make regular sized flowers,
but I also made some small flowers with mini cupcake liners.
Those were ADORABLE!!!

Items needed:
Cupcake liners
hot glue gun
Take one liner,
cut 4 slits into it.
( look at it like a clock,
you want one at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock)

Do this to as about 6-10 wrappers
depending on how full
you want your flower.
Over lap the liners
so that when there is a slit,
a uncut part of another wrapper
goes behind it.
Glue the bottoms of the wrappers down
to eachother.
To make the middle full,
you have to cut a SLICE
(not just a slit)
out of the wrapper

Glue the ends together to form
almost a mini wrapper

The bottom might look a little funky...
Just push it in to make it flat.

Do the 4 slits to the smaller wrapper again.
Do about 2 of the smaller cut wrappers
(like above)

After you have done 2 of your first "mini wrapper"
Keep making the slice
a little larger and larger.

Do this until you have a pretty full flower

cut out have of your wrapper,
cut a small dip into one half,
... then wrap it up like so.
Glue together.
HOW COOL IS THAT????!!!!???!
You can vary in size, pattern, and fullness.
You could even add a bead or button
as your center instead of the rolled wrapper.
That was fun ;)
Now for the workout I invented.........

We all know Taylor Swift's

The other evening, I was listening to it while exercising
And I kinda made up my own workout.

This is what I did:
(boy, was I tired!!!)

Listen to the song, and when the time comes,

(use version of song above for correct times)

Click here to check out the routine.
You'll LOVE it :) :)

I hope you enjoyed both the flowers and the workout.
I learned how to do a waterfall braid today :) :) :)

Pinned Image

It is surprisingly easy.
(and I CANNOT do hair!)
Trying that was fun.

Until next time,

What's with the new name??

stand alone

To Stand Alone.
Same blog, different name.
This quote came up on pintrest.
Love it so much.

I am trying to come up with different names for this blog.  I didn't LOVE the original title (It's a colorful life.) It didn't have enough meaning to it.  The name might not be permanent.  But I liked it for now.
(let me know what YOU think in the comments)
How do you like the new look?  More classy??  :) :) :)

Check back in soon! More crafty creations coming!! And some fun recipes.  (some of which I made up!! don't worry, their safe :) )

Mini Pin Board!

We all have loose papers around, right?
This craft might help you with that.

It is super fun BECAUSE
You can customize it
and change it WHENEVER!
                (Meaning it is not PERMANENT!
                        It CAN be changed!!
for those of you who don't like
the same thing for to long.)

For this craft, you will need:

A roll of cork
(the kind you can cover
the bottom of drawers with)

Popsicle sticks
(less than shown in picture :P )

Some random

(I used small paper flowers)

Cut a small piece of cork,
size is no matter.
Line edge of cork with Popsicle sticks.
Hot glue.

Add embellishments

You can use pins
It IS a PINboard.
but I cheated and used
double sided tape

Pick pictures,
and tidbits
 to tape (or pin) down

One thing I added to my board
was paint swatches I doodled
on with this:
Pentel Sunburst white pen

Don't forget:
Make your board

see you next time!!

God of Angel Armies...

I know I already posted today but....
This song has become a favorite.

" I know who goes before me,
I know who stands behind,
The GOD of Angel Armies,
is ALWAYS by my side!"

God Bless!

Are You Ready for Some GLITTER?!?

It is one of my favorite things.
This post is dedicated to my nail polish addicted cousin.
(she's addicted to painting her nails,
looking at her nail polish
and COUNTING all 30 - some of them!
love you! )

Here is a pretty sweet nail polish tutorial.

Items needed:
Top coat,
white nail polish (optional)

We are going to make our own!
We like the long way here!

Put some glitter on a napkin.

Paint a finger with your top coat
white polish

Roll finger in glitter
Put on top coat.
then re-roll
put final top coat on.

You can do all nails GLITTERY
or do a few!
different colors of glitter would
look SWEET!

Wasn't that easy?
It is crafting glitter.
I painted my nails around 5:30 PM
(it is now 9 PM)
They haven't chipped so far.
But I don't expect it to last much past tomorrow.
So, if you need a long term nail painting job,
don't do this!

It just looks so cool for a fancy evening,
great slumber party idea by the way.
okay. maybe not.
my mom hates glitter.

How did your nails turn out?
It isn't hard AT ALL!
Trust me!
The pictures above were the
I ever did this.

Happy Back to School!
(or not :( )
